Get to Know God - a 28-day Project - Epilogue

This is not the end, it is just the beginning!  Keep asking questions!  Here's one more:
"Question. — What is God?
Answer. — God is incorporeal, divine, supreme, infinite Mind, Spirit, Soul, Principle, Life, Truth, Love.
Question. — Are these terms synonymous?
Answer. — They are. They refer to one absolute God. They are also intended to express the nature, essence, and wholeness of Deity. The attributes of God are justice, mercy, wisdom, goodness, and so on."  (SH 465:8-15)

We have just scratched the infinitesimal surface of a new point of view on how to Get to Know God.   We only explored 4 qualities for each synonym for God and there are a whole lot more!  If you wish to continue to your exploration of God in this way, here is a list of several more qualities organized under the seven synonyms for God.
If you really want to deepen your understanding of God in this way, I urge you to get the comprehensive work on this subject, Science and Health With Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy which can be purchased online.  Or, if you want to buy one at a bookstore and be able to chat with someone about it, check your local White or Yellow Pages listings for a Christian Science Reading Room near you.

If you just want someone to talk to about it, don't hesitate to contact me and we can continue the conversation.

Above all, have fun Getting to Know God!!

Get to Know God - a 28 day Project - Summary God is Life

Summary:  God is Life
“trust in … the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy; Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share; storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.”  (NKJV, I Tim. 6:17-19 trust)
Reflection:  What if our currency wasn’t money but these qualities we’ve been contemplating for the past 12 days?  Now realize that these qualities exist in God, in Life, in infinite quantity and are available for every one - no matter race, religion, gender, or age – to freely receive and give.  Imagine how wealthy and healthy each and every one of us truly is.  Therefore, as long as we are availing ourselves of both receiving and giving, - demonstrating - these good qualities now, have the recipe for eternal life.  Life is the eternal expression of good.

Spiritual Fact:  “Life is eternal. We should find this out, and begin the demonstration thereof. Life and goodness are immortal. Let us then shape our views of existence into loveliness, freshness, and continuity, rather than into age and blight.”  (SH 246:27-31)

“Truth demonstrated is eternal life.”  (SH 289:1-2)

Day 12 – Abundance

a·bun·dance /uh-buhn-duhns/ η:   1 an extremely plentiful or oversufficient quantity or supply: an abundance of grain.  2 overflowing fullness, generosity.  3 affluence; wealth, plenty.

“The Eternal One will never leave you; He will lead you in the way that you should go.  When you feel dried up and worthless, God will nourish you and give you strength.  And you will grow like a garden lovingly tended; you will be like a spring whose water never runs out.”  (The Voice, Isa. 58:11)
Contemplate the idea that when we feel dried up and worthless, it’s because we’re focused self-ward.  But, when we turn to God, The Eternal One, there is an infinite supply of nourishment, strength, and inspiration, among other great qualities, available to us, and, which in turn appear to us, as needs being met.

Awareness Exercise:  Become aware of Life’s unfolding divine abundance and opportunity all around you.  If this seems an impossible task, notice the proliferation of nature – trees, flowers, insects, birds, etc.  Think about how those beings don’t have to struggle to get what they need to growth and flourish.  “Consider the lilies how they grow:  they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.”  (KJV, Luke 12:27)  King Solomon, by the way, was the wisest and richest King who ever lived.

“… in proportion as we apprehend the divine nature and love Him understandingly, … [we shall] rejoic[e] in the affluence of our God.”  (SH 140:8-12)

Tomorrow, we'll summarize God is Life and move on to God is Principle
