Get to Know God - a 28-day Project - Epilogue

This is not the end, it is just the beginning!  Keep asking questions!  Here's one more:
"Question. — What is God?
Answer. — God is incorporeal, divine, supreme, infinite Mind, Spirit, Soul, Principle, Life, Truth, Love.
Question. — Are these terms synonymous?
Answer. — They are. They refer to one absolute God. They are also intended to express the nature, essence, and wholeness of Deity. The attributes of God are justice, mercy, wisdom, goodness, and so on."  (SH 465:8-15)

We have just scratched the infinitesimal surface of a new point of view on how to Get to Know God.   We only explored 4 qualities for each synonym for God and there are a whole lot more!  If you wish to continue to your exploration of God in this way, here is a list of several more qualities organized under the seven synonyms for God.
If you really want to deepen your understanding of God in this way, I urge you to get the comprehensive work on this subject, Science and Health With Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy which can be purchased online.  Or, if you want to buy one at a bookstore and be able to chat with someone about it, check your local White or Yellow Pages listings for a Christian Science Reading Room near you.

If you just want someone to talk to about it, don't hesitate to contact me and we can continue the conversation.

Above all, have fun Getting to Know God!!

God is Love
Day 2 – Kindness

kind·ness /kahynd-nis/ η: the state or quality of being kind:  1 of a good or benevolent nature or disposition.  2 having, showing, or proceeding from benevolence.  3 indulgent, considerate, or helpful.  4 mild; gentle; clement.  5 loving; affectionate.

“… the Lord will command his lovingkindness in the daytime …”  (KJV, Ps 42:8)
Contemplate the quality of being kind. Allow that sense to permeate your being.  What is it like to feel God’s kindness and affection?  What does it mean to you that God, Love “commands his lovingkindness in the daytime”?

Awareness Exercise:  Throughout your day, notice when you see kindness show up.  Can you detect its effects on yourself or others?  What are the results you see?  How does witnessing and/or feeling kindness nourish you or others?

“The … heart needs its rightful nutriment, such as peace, patience in tribulation, and a priceless sense of the dear Father’s loving-kindness.”  (SH 365:31-2)

Stay tuned for Day 3 and God is Love:  Mercy
